ROC provides information to employees about workplace safety and health issues through regular internal communication channels. These include supervisor-employee meetings, bulletin board postings, memos, or other mediums of verbal and written communications.
In addition, employees at all levels receive regularly scheduled workplace safety training. This training covers potential safety and health hazards as well as instruction in safe work practices and procedures designed to eliminate or minimize hazards.
ROC is committed to the philosophy that any degree of injury to any individual is unacceptable. Each employee is expected to obey all safety rules and to exercise caution in all work activities. Safe work practices will be considered in evaluations, awards, and recognition. Employees who violate safety standards, who cause hazardous or dangerous situations, or who fail to report and/or remedy such situations, may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
Rice Operating Company realizes that there is the potential for accidents to occur regardless of the company's best efforts at avoidance. It is ROC's policy that in the case of accidents that result in injury, no matter how insignificant the injury may appear, employees must immediately notify the Safety Director or the appropriate supervisor.
Providing a safe and healthful work environment is a responsibility that must be shared equally and without exception by each individual within the organization. The ultimate success of the Rice Operating Company safety program is dependent on a personal commitment by everyone involved.
